i have a 98.5 a4 and i want to disconnect the battery but i don't have the radio code. i don't have the radio card with the number on it. where can i go to look this number up?

they don't charge you for the number - they rape you with labor rates - they don't work for free

yeah that's shitty. if you go, don't make them put it in, just ask them to find the code and that's it. it's super simple to punch in and they'll probably charge you more for them doing that

I don't know about the '98s, but I found my code on a sticker in the right side of the spare tire well. The number should be in the bottom left hand corner of the sticker.

Had this done recently (guy i bought the car from lost the manuals[:@]), and they charged me 0.5 hrs labour, i walked in the shop and the tech had my car on the hoist and torquing my wheels (this was ~15 mins after he brought the car in). Hmmmmm

If your audi is the same as a newer one as long as you don't disconnect the radio harness from the back off it you should not have to do anything. I changed the battery in my 02 and was super nervous about the same problem ,but I just did it anyway well cause I had no choice but it was fine put the new battery in and that was it.
