Smile first car, 2007 Audi A4 SE Auto

Hey Audi forum peeps,

I'm thinking of buying an 2007 Audi A4 SE Auto for my first car (148,000km), just looking for honest opinions on the car? major problems to look out for now and in the future as well.

Thank you

I would suggest reading the stickies at the top of the forum and check out the B7 forum as well. You didn't say if it is a quarto or the engine size. That will make a difference.

Quatro is good. I do not see many have issues with them (me included). The only trans issues is a pulsing sensation. Read somewhere it is the torque converter. Mine started doing it around 100k. I have 182k miles now and it has only gotten slightly more noticeable.

2.0 engine has a cam follower issue. They can wear out and if they do can cause some serious damage. There was an extended warranty for that but it may be expired by now. Cheap part and easy to change though. Timing belt needs to be changed somewhere between 75k and 1005k (not sure for the 2007 model year). That can be expensive (mine was $900 others have paid more).
