It depends on what they are asking for it. If they are fixing and guaranteeing the work, you should be OK. I'd be a little worried about the engine gasket though. Sounds like its been leaking oil, and who knows if the owner kept it full or not?
Personally, I would keep looking for one with a better history. Usually the dealers say they cant give squat of a history about the vehicle, and in my opinion with an Audi, you are just asking for trouble.
Find one that has all the maintenance records and history. You will pay less from a private owner and wont get screwed by the dealer, cause I guarantee they are only out to make a buck and wont have any problem screwing you over on the price and repairs of the vehicle.
What are the miles on the car?
I got a 2003 A4 Quattro 1.8T for $16,800. Perfect carfax, exterior, interior.... and I only have 38k miles. Thats a damn good deal, heh
But i'd start looking for another car the second they told me it had to be repainted, only on that side.... yeah sure it wasn't hit or in an accident
Try to find one that you don't have to question, beleive me its worth the wait, I know you want the car real bad but you'll know when you find the right one

I was thinking buy it because none of that stuff is all that bad, but then I saw the price. Maybe it is a good deal, but I wouldn't put out that much money on an iffy car that I was unsure of. If this was a 98 - 00 B5 and you were getting a good deal on it, I would say def get it, but for 18k, that thing better be tight. At $5k, the fender doesn't bother me at all, but at $18k its a deal breaker.

I dont. That a lot for the miles. Dealer is raping you. And the thing is all f**ked up, as you can tell by all the work it needs.
Why would you pay top dollar for a f**ked up car that was obviously not taken care of?
Just trying to help you make a good decision bro.
Keep lookin, there are a lot out there.
