Cincy - I've been trying to do some reading on mbc's, and after reading through the sticky and various searched posts, I'm still confused as to what the hell a proper one does. I've learned so far that you can either replace the n75, or run it in parallel, and it seems like people think you should run it in parallel because of smoother boost. That's fine with me.

In the diagrams on the sticky page, it shows a connection to the turbo housing. I don't have a connection to the turbo housing (k04), I don't think... If it's just boost pressure, is that the same as, say, the line coming off the intake manifold? or should i just figure out where the n75's getting the pressure reading from and tee it before and after, throw the mbc in, and leave it like that?

dammit, im getting more confused the more i write.... if it's in parallel, how does it help at all? I'd think that if it's completely closed off, the system is going to act just like it would without it, and if it's completely open, the system is going to act like there's nothing in (no n75).... dammit, why cant i know all the answers. /vent

N75 is just a basic pressure release valve (dv)= air so when your on about FPR that's fuel pressure related only? so what about an adjustable FPR and now im waiting for every one to jump in

I was seriously considering upgrading injectors and going with the pc16 file, I found a vendor that would burn me a file for cheap... you guys don't like it? Or, you like the TAP file better?
dont get me wrong, pc-16 is siiick. it just runs way out of the turbo's efficiency range and i think giac replaced it with a newer file.

you got a few options. 1-get 310cc injectors, an adjustable fpr and set it at ~3.2 bar (you might as well get an adjustable one in case you change the mods on your car in the future), get an mbc to hold the boost back to like spike at 22-23 and hold around 20-21, and run that. 2- contact giac and ask about their new k04 file (probly most expensive route). 3- get the basic k04 file. i dont know about giac's basic file but TAP spikes at 18psi and holds 16psi. which isn't that far off from the k04's maximum efficiency and still provides you decent power. you will stomp any k03 on the road, beat lightly modded evo's, moderately modded srt-4's, and rape cobalt ss', rsx's, and GTI's (these are my friends' cars lol)

chaos-

thanks. I have the normal giac k04 file now, so i'll run that until i get everything else sorted out. I figure once i financially recover from the k04 and fmic and all that, i'll get some 310s, adj. fpr + gauge, and pc-16 with a mbc to limit the boost.

glad everyone likes the sig

edit-> also, i think you're probably going to catch flak here for saying i could be a lightly modded evo... i think that's a little overkill. i didn't even think with pc-16 or basically any iteration of tuning for the k04 i'd beat even a stock evo... am i wrong?

thats exactly what im doing now. i got everything i need except the file and a mbc. i figure i'll just buy the file and run pc-16 until a can afford a full gt3071r .68 AR. you can usually sell the file for what you got it for. files dont get old lol

my boy's evo and my audi. he's got intake, exhaust, stage 2 cutch, and weight reduction. the trunk is completely gutted and he put in new lighter seats. he may also have a chip i dunno. he spikes 22 and holds 20. and i beat him by 2-3 car lengths on average. and i have a full trunk with a 100lbs of audio equipment in there lol

ps- that's blue tape on the hood if you were wondering. it was right before my trip to tallahassee- https://www.audiforums.com/m_631801/tm.htm
