front end collision..replaced all parts but wont start?
I have a 96 2.8 quattro and recentley rear ended a truck. The bumper of the truck hit my hood, not damaging the bumper at all but smashing the hood, the core support along with the radiator, condensor, and both fans. I got a 4 thousand dollar estimate from a local shop with a good reputation. I got it towed to my house and it sat for about 3 months. I ordered a haynes manual and started ordering parts one by one. I got it all put back together this week and put fluids in it. I went to start it up and its turing fine but will not fire. I have 2 pulleys that are a little bent but the serpentine sits and turns fine on them. My question for you all is that since the impact of the collision was on the hood possibly hitting the ignition coil pack ( but not causing any damage noticable) could have maybe gotten damp or damaged be my problem? I have a few other possibilities as well. Troubleshooting my problem in the manual ( Engine rotates but will not start) gave me these options: 1. The fuel tank is empty 2.Battery discharged 3.Battery terminal connections loose or corroded. 4. Leaking fuel injectors, Faulty fuel pump, pressure regulator etc. 5. Broken or stripped timing belt 6. ignition components damp or damaged 7.Worn faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs 8.Broken loose or disconnected wiring in the starting circuit 9. Broken, loose or disconnected wires at the ignition coils or faulty coils. 10. Defective Mass Air Flow Sensor 11. Contaminated Fuel.
The gas light was on during the collision. the fuel that was in there sat for almost 4 months in the mild winter weather (Maryland) However I did just put two gallons of premium in before i tried starting it. Possibly the fuel that was in my tank before got contaminated? The Battery I had in it i got tested.. lost its charge completly dead. Replaced with a brand new exact batter. When the car hit.. the plastic casing around my water pump and timing belt cracked, I did get the cracked peices out of the timing belt and put the cracked cover back on. Again the impact was on the ignition coil pack. The spark plugs were replace 2 months prior to the accident. It turns fine and my charge is at 14. I do hear a high pitch screel right infront of the firewall. Might i add the car was towed away on its front wheel leaving the back ones rolling. Ive heard its bad for an all wheel drivetrain. Any possible solutions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

4 month old gas can't be helping you...if you're going to be doing work like this on your car, you should consider purchasing a vag-com cable. there's also a registry of vag-com owners, i've used it twice to have people scan my car...there used to be a link to it in the sticky thread "audi links" at the top of this forum, but i don't see it right now for some reason.

I tried using that website and all three people I emailed, didn't respond to me. Kinda sucked. I would like to have mine scanned before I take it in, just to see if they are screwing me over.
