you mean the defroster?

if your engine has been on for awhile and you have warm air it will clear fast, but when you first start your car, it will take a few minutes for the engine to warm up and give it warm air.

No not the defoster it is the demister for the front windscreen.
atfer 30 mins driving i am still not getting any air blowing to the front
windscreen to clear the mist away.
normally air would blow from the vents on the top of the dash to
clear the front window.

It's probably going to be a stuck flap motor (actuator), I think it's behind the glove box near the center console on the passenger side. There should be about 3 of them there and I believe it's the top actuator there. Then with the glove box out, you can play with it to see if it's stuck or broken completely. You could just have a little glitch, unstick it, and it'll run again, otherwise, you'll need a new actuator.

VAG com should give you a code as to if the actuator is bad. That's what it sounds like since you HAVE air blowing, your fan is working, etc.
