Dismantling and assembling engineRemoving and installing bracket for alternator, vane pump (power steering) and viscous fan

●Lock carrier must be in service position => Page 13-1. [/ul]
Removing

β€’Obtain radio code on vehicles with coded radio.
β€’With ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap.
β€’Remove ribbed belt and tensioning element for ribbed belt => Page 13-18. [/ul]
Note:
Ribbed belt for air conditioner does not have to be removed.

β€’Remove V-belt=> Page 13-21.
β€’Unbolt pulley from vane pump for power steering.
β€’Unbolt vane pump from bracket for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan, lift clear to one side and tie in place. Do not disconnect hydraulic connections. [/ul]

β€’Perform all steps listed under "Removing and installing coolant pump"=>Page 19-14. [/ul]
Note:
Coolant pump is bolted to bracket for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

β€’Renew coolant pump seal to prevent leaks. [/ul]

haha ya your good. tell me if this would work as a much easyier fix cuz I dont really wanna mess up my engine doin all that. How about if I modify the new alternator so on that side of it I cut out a spot just big enough to fit the bolt into the hole from the side then tighten it down really hard.

What would hold the alternator in place if the bolt can come out the side?

Dismantling and assembling engineRibbed belt drive for vane pump, alternator and viscous fan; V-belt drive for coolant pump

Note:
Before removing the ribbed belt, mark the direction of rotation with chalk or a felt pen. If a used belt rotates in the wrong direction when refitted, it can break. When installing the belt, ensure it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
