Fuel Filter service interval
Hey everyone,
Just wondering what's the service interval for the a4 fuel filter? I've heard anyhere from 15k to 90k. My car has 100k and i don't think it was ever changed (not in previous owner records). Bentley says they are good for the lifetime of the vehicle, but that seems kinda of optimistic. Based on ur experience what do u think?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Fuel Filter service interval
i've never heard of a set interval, although in diesel engines they go a lot faster. I'm at 90k with the stock one. Around 100k is a prolly a good time to replace it, its not really expensive either and you might notice some power gains at higher rpms

50k is best, Fuel supply is important. I had 94k on mine when I changed it and there was black crap coming out of it... the car idles better with the new one and it feels a tiny bit better in the higher revs.

RE: Fuel Filter service interval
There is no recommended service interval for the filter from audi. Around 100k is a good time to replace it as a preventative measure as a blocked fuel filter increases strain on the fuel pump leading to premature failure. A filter that is plugged will cause the fuel pump to hum due to the restriction.

RE: Fuel Filter service interval
so basically there is no set time and each cars filter will go bad at dif. times depending on how the car is driven, but if it hasn't been changed out by 100k go ahead and do it as a preventative measure since its not that expensive and ur audi deserves it
