It wouldn't hurt to ask, just take the invoice in and tell them you had it done before they figured out that they were going bad, It aut to be covered. As for mine, just for the first time heard one hell of a pop outa the front tonight, I'll be having that looked at very soon.

Why don't they make replacement bushings for the control arms?

afterall, the arms are fine, it is the bushing that deteriorates.

Wow, there is a technical service bulletin on the front control arms?

Someone should get the word out.
That my fine moderator, was a touch of sarcasm.

Anyone who hasn't been asleep for the last year, or knows the location of the search button can find this out on this forum or audiworld.

Flyboy - what year is your car?
There was a tie rod recall also a few years ago. My 98.5 had them changed.

its a service action not a reacll the difference is that a recall they ahve to replace the part A6 owner should know all about this a service action is if the part is faulty they will replace it and you can't say Audi parts are twice the price that ios not the way it works up here anyways for example the A4 contol arms are the same # as the passat ones and they sell for the exact same price at the VW store right beside me

For those us who have the 1998 A4 2.8 Quattro.... there is a recall on the vacum holes as well. From some of the threads I have read and from what I can infer from some of Jestomen's entries.... this migth be the cause of the code---P0411.
