this one is for the b5 2.8 30v guys. what is your average MPG? mine hovers around 19.5ish but that seems kind of low. i dont really drive too hard usually, shifting around 3k RPM when commuting around town, and on the freeway the real time MPG stays at about 20. seems kind of low. anything i should worry about or is that the norm? thanks.

it should be better than that on the freeway, at 60mph my mate gets 30+mpg

 

Might want to think about changing the pre-cat oxygen sensors. Should be able to pick up a few mpg.

i get around 30-32.5mpg if i'm going anywhere between 45-75mph, but under that i get crappy mileage. Its the stop and go that kills you, sometimes i get as low as 17mpg around town depending on traffic, up to almost 23mpg on a good day.

 

I've been asking myself the same question. I understand that the Quattro will cut down on the gas mileage, but it seems that 20 mpg is kinda low. I've got a 97 2.8QM and I love everything about it except the gas mileage. I might look into the O2 sensors, hopefully it'll help. Any other suggestions?
