Default Good deal or no

I'm looking to buy my first A4 and the one i looked at today is a 99 1.8T quattro. It's has a 5 speed with heated leather and it has 100,000. I love the way the newer ones look but unfortunately a 99 or so is all i can afford. I test drove it and i felt like a had to have it. The car rode so nice and it's pretty peppy too. The body is a little rough (looks like the previous owner lived in the city) but i work at a body shop and could easily take care of that. Mecahnically its sound so is 8,500 a good price with a 6 month warranty?

i think thats a decent price. ask if the timing belt has been done. If not, you can use that to lower the price a bit. Is the warranty from Audi? I doubt it since it has 100k.

+1, yeah not to bad of a deal. You might want to look into getting a 2000-2001 because it has 170hp instead of 150hp. Just throwin' that out there.

He can't afford an 00-01. And only '01s have 170. Not a bad deal.

it's from a used car dealer that specializes in audi and vw and its warrantied by them, and yeah i would love to get one newer but unless it's a deal of a lifetime I think i'm gonna have to go with one a little older. I am still nervous about buying a car with that many miles but i'm never gonna get a house paying for my Yukon, so i need to downgrade and the A4 is a sweet little car. I just have to make sure its gonna last the 5 years of the loan.

Eh ya, the 5 years thing is tough. Personally I stay away from any car with that milage. However maybe people
who bought A4s at simmilar milages will post here and tell you their experiences. Make sure you get maintaince records.
If the records look good, with TB included thats a good thing. I know steering and suspention parts are a concern, so
do good research.

Is it a 99 or a 99.5?? You can tell by the taillights...are the just red and white, or is there an orange panel along the side? The newer ones are just red and white....there are a few other cosmetic differences as well.

yea thats why i asked about it being an audi warranty. usually those "other" warranties cover hardly ANYTHING... i'd check that out closely. i know its only a 6 month one, but you want to make sure that you at least have something to back you up if something does go wrong.
