so after realizing that $1700 was way to much for a timming belt from the stealership, i found an import mechanic, while i know it is alot better that what the dealership wanted, how dose this sound?

thats still really high. 700 is a decent price. 500 is a really good one.

 

What shop are you going to chaos? I could see 700 as a good deal but if i got quoted 500 i'd wonder if the shop is legit. Close to 1100 is still too high, 700-800 is a good common price I think depending where you get the parts.

 

exactly 700 is a common price. 500 is a good deal. guys who have done them before can do them in a few hours. 300 bucks for a few hours work is worth it to some mechanics.
