Default Good Price KO4?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place (or website) where I could find an authentic ko4 for a good price and I won't buy one from ebay. And I was wondering if it would be a direct fit in place of the ko3 on my 97 1.8tq 5 speed? Thank you

1) yes a ko4 is a direct replacement (but a worthless upgrade, search the subject)
2) EBAY TURBOS ARE JUNK!
3) gpop has rebuilt ko4s

On his car it's more of an upgrade since he is not running the K03s. I put it in my A4 and it was a nice power gain, BUT a little to torquey for my taste. Anyways,

if you are going to do it, get one from GPOPshop. They rebuild K03's to K04 specs (same housing, different internals). I think they sell them for $625 or something like that.

Mine was a new turbo with a k04 wheel in it from gpop, not used. And yes it's totally worth $600. No it's not a BT, but worth a $600 upgrade.

i said it was worthless so this didn't turn into another 3 page thread debating if a K04 is worth a damn, bottom line if you do just the turbo it is worth it, but if your wanting to run a pc-16 file it is not worth it because you can run somthing better for about the same price,

one of the elims would be the cheapest next to a k04. if your not looking to spend a few grand and aren't looking to push more than 250hp a k04 is fine for you. or a sp51 upgrade might be even better. if you want more power than that (and you most likely will) i would get a gtrs or 50 trim. there's a link at the top of the page "So you've decided to go BT" that lists all the popular options and whats needed for each setup.
