why wont your friend pay for it
because oregon law states that when someone else is driving ur car and it gets wrecked the owner is responsable, gay huh? but seriously if i wrecked someones car i would pay for the damages, that would just be the right thing to do regardless of what the law reads.
Screw the law, its common decency to fix someone elses stuff if you broke it.

BTW, he wasnt driving outside of philly was he? (someone side swiped my car parked on the street night before last :P)

it all depends.. if he was flat broke and barely scraping by.. then I would be okay with him paying the deductible.. but if had money to throw around and he refused to pay it then He would no longer be a friend

Hi

I read all ur replies & for this invidual with a situation with his friend I say if his friend won't start by saying SORRY many times & be an aldult & pay for the damages or help with a big part of the cost just errase that person as a friend no matter how long u known him. The reason I say that I had the same thing happened to me a few months ago it wasn't a friend that wrecked an old car I had, but my blood sister, she took my car w/o my permission & no liscense in a joy ride with her friends & damage the car for over $3,500 & parked the car acting like I wouldn't find out the next morning. Till this day she never say sorry for what she did & explained y she did it & I never asked her also cuase it's not my place to ask, but look at me like she don't care & it was her right to damage my car. I calmed myself for one reason throughout the period cause I can work & paid the high insurance cost, but I can't pay my way out a 20yrs sentence to prison. The fact that she treated me like that after the whole incident was enough for me to stuff her in *****. So for the guy with the problem if u need to cut that friend out just do it cause later it might be something that u can't pay ur way out that ur friend damage.

Yeah, keeping him as a friend might end up screwing you again later. This guy isnt a friend, he's a dirtbag. Any FRIEND would not hide behind a law... common decency should supersede such a law.
