guys, I need some knowledge sharing....
Just make sure to keep the fluid level right until it gets fixed or the steering rack/pump will suffer... And you dont even want to know how much a new rack costs, let alone how much labor is involved. Keep us updated.
Ok, so I just got back from the shop, and here's what I was told....
RACK replacement/fix [:@]
Ok, but the cause for this breaking down was the worn out inner & outer tie rods.... [:@]
I never noticed any weird sounds or clunking from those parts, but after having lifted the car, I noticed the damage myself.....
So I was charged 160dlls for fixing/patching the RACK.
and 60dlls for all rods..
And this is including labor....
So I have a question again for everyone, does the tranny need to be moved for this job????
