chris, did you use the original spring seats like it says to do in that write-up?

 

Umm, I used the seats for the top, but not the bottom... as you have to turn it, when adjusting hiehgt... a rubber seat would have made too much friction. I think H&R comes with a little metal "washer" that will go between the perch, and the hacked up original seat... so you could use it then, and I'd imagine it would quiet things down a lot.
