Where do you live that firefighters use blue lights? Here, we use red.

I'm currently working on some circuitry that will use my fog light button to make my high beams and rear fog lights wig-wag. Now I just have to get some led lights

That will be cool! When you are done you should post a DIY! If you want.

I'm from SE PA... A bit more than an hour north of Philly. Here only the chiefs and emergency vehicles use red lights. I think red looks cooler, but I think the blue is a lot brighter at night [shrug].

I was thinking of doing wig-wags, but I really want to convert my stock A4 tail lights to LEDs (hoorah for no more brake lights out) and I'm most likely getting 1-piece projectors and HIDs sometime this up-coming summer. Don't know how either would react to hardcore on/off-ing...

are you just running one light and no siren? I have all mine wired straight to the batery then to a master switch inside the car. I've got it set up so i can run only front or only rear lights. Here in georgia were required to have red lights wig wags and a siren. gets kinda costly with all that but it looks good goin down the road

We aren't required to have wig-wags, but they look sick as hell. The same with lights on the back. We're supposed to have them and they look sick, but nobody really cares if you don't...

But yeah, red lights and sirens are for emergency vehicles only... HUGENORMOUS fines for having them if you aren't supposed and you get pulled over.

Most states' vehicle codes will tell you that this is illegal, unless you're a peace officer. As far as the blue color goes, Honolulu PD uses only blue lights, whereas Honolulu FD uses red/blue. Haven't seen anybody else on the West Coast use only blue lights.
