HAs anyone changed their tiptronic tranny fluid?
Audi considers it a lifetime fluid but the fluid manufacturer never made that claim. It is one way that car manufacturers keep the calculated cost of upkeep down. Similar to not needing to change your timing belt until 105K miles (yeah, right..)
Which means it will last until your transmission fails. Of course, your transmission will fail earlier if you don't change your transmission fluid.
If we are talking tiptronic fluid change, it is rather involved. requires the transmission fluid to be at the correct temperature, and the car to be lifted and perfectly level. Requires special transmission fluid from audi/VW
I just have my local Audi mechanic do it. Alternatively, buy a Haynes manual for 15 bucks at PEPboys for instructions, fluids
I bought my car used at 75K miles. The first thing I did was swap out transmission fluid and front, center and rear differential fluids.

Wow, a 2 year dead thread of me!
Since then I've had the fluid changed again at 120K miles and now I'm at 175K miles. This time I'll probably drop the pan and change the filter.
