I have a black a4 and am considering replacing the factory side markers with some smoked side markers:

Wondering if anyone has done it. If so how does it look? and how easy is it?

 

yeah I replaced mine for white/crystal ones. It looks good. They come out easy. Just take a credit card and pop them out. There is a little tab you have to press.

 

Pretty easy, I replaced mine with some smoked-sides I got for xmas. All you need is a credit card to pop them out. Slide the card underneith the side-marker starting at the door side and pushing towards the front of the car. Make sure you're never gonna use the card again cuz you could break it. One of my markers took a bit of elbow greese to get out. They pop out and then it's just a matter of switching bulbs if you want to and throwing the new markers in.
