hmmm, why wont key work? if you can get into the car, you can reprogram your remote by doing this

turn on car but do not start engine..
leave key in and car on and get out
close the door and lock the car
hold both remote buttons for like 5 seconds till the car beeps.. this should make the remote work

good luck

i put the key in the door and it wont turn, i assume its an anti theft thing but i dont know. i just know its really a pain in the *** to not be able to get into my car... has this happened to anyone else??? i wonder if maybe my car battery is going bad, but dont think the car alarm draws that many amps that it would stop the car from unlocking due to a bad battery.
it would be great to reset the alarm keys but i cant get into the car at all.

try the other key... you have 2 keys i assume?( my 96 has 2 different keys, 1 door and glove and one ignition) and try turining the other way, give it a little pressure
and badluck i think the systems on 96's are diff, mine works how i said but my moms 01 1.8 works like you said
