Yes it is a direct replacement, from memory they are the top of the range Philips bulb, but are well worth it

The next step if u wont too get more light is to do the Xenon conversion but u are talking about a few $$$....and u have more than 3 times the output of the halogens!

I have a 2003 1.8t. I'd like to replace the turn signal and headlight bulbs, but have no idea how to take the headlight assembly apart. Anyone got a write up??
