Headlight during the day?
FYI, most "day time running headlights" will only use the headlights. (No driving lights and no tail lights) Obviously, this is so only 2 of all ur lights die every 35,000 or whatever miles.
All cars shipped to Canada have to be rigged for "daytime running lights".
Most NA made cars use their headlights and have two settings - DRL and On, then of coarse there are high beams. So when you turn the car on, the headlights come on a weak low setting but the tails don't light up.
I like how the A4 is different from a lot of cars out there - instead of the projectors turning on the fog lights come on and are considered DRL.

The Irish post office started to mandate that its vehicles run with headlights on in the daytime, and its accident rate dropped some 75%. Lots of starting/stopping in that job though. Still, it was successful enough that it became Army policy as well.
Personally, I don't, but I spend most of my time on motorways, so it's less of an issue.
