Headlight Question

What year did Audi start making the one piece headlights for the a4's and can i fit that headlight onto my 96? I love the look of the oem lights and i want a pair. Thx,

00-01 a4 and 00-02 s4. yes they will fit but you have to do a little cutting

How hard will it be to cut this stuff considering I'm a newbie with cars. I love the look of the one-piece oem headlights.

There's a DIY procedure either on this forum or on AudiWorld's tech area - it shows what you have to cut/grind away, and there is a little rewiring to do as well - nothing terribly complex or frightening though.
