Headlights and Fog Lights do not work
Well I decided to follow this guide to try and fix the switch:
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec114.shtml
Of course nothing goes easy and I stripped one of the torx screw to take out the airbag. No big deal...I got a screw extractor thinking it would be a piece of cake to get the screw out. The problem is that snapped off inside. I manged to drill another hole to start another screw extractor. Figures, that one stripped.
Anyone know of a good screw extractor (easy out), because apparently oem industrial brand and black and decker suck.

Its the whole stalk.. I had the same problem a month ago, do your yellow corners turn on?
If they do but not the headlights then its the stalk that controls the headlights/ turn signal switch. Its a 170 dollar part, then another 60-100 (depending on labor I paid 60.. for private mech) to take off the air bag + steering wheel to install the damn thing.

do your wipers work? if not wiggle your key.
other scenerio is you have a faulty headlamp switch or a pain in the a** wiring problem

hey
i'm new here i actualy just joined tonight because my brothers headlights just stopped working tonight and i need to figure out whats wrong with them and rbrtech his windsheild wipers are not working and he says his heater is acting weird too not sure what that means but the car is not here so i can see for my self. just wondering it you think because the wiper aren't working too it might be the ingition switch verses the head light switch assembly?
thanks

henderson try wiggling the key. both of these ignintion spring and headlamp stalk are very common issues that have similar problems. if the key thing works take it into audi for the recall
To get that bolt out that I broke 2 screw extractors on and stripped a third, I ended up JB welding a socket to it. It came right out the next day with a slight twist from a ratchet.
The stalk ended up being my issue. I just cleaned the contacts and messed around with it making sure it touched better. Thanks guys for all the help.

Hi, Im new to this forum and new to Audi! Slightly off subject, but how do I change the headlight bulbs in 2002 A4 and how do I know if I have xenon lights or not? Finally, the internal adjuster for headlights is at highest level and i still only light up a few feet in front of car, how can i raise the level of the lights? Thanks
