Even if blockage is the problem, why are BOTH hoses not pressurized? Wouldn't the hose that goes into the core be presurized?
No, enough coolant would get bypassed so both hoses would feel kinda weak in pressure. If it were to just build up pressure on the hose going into the core the hose would either burst or pop off where it goes into the bulkhead.

Same issue brought me this way. I guess I am not the only one without a working heater. Last year, the mechanic replaced the thermostat and water pump, but no improvement. Is there anywhere I can find pics of the process of flushing out the heater core. I am having a hard time bringing my mind around how to do it. I am no mechanic, but it seems like something that I could do in my driveway. If so, I would rather do that than pay the thousands of dollars the stealer is going to charge for a new heater core. I have searched, but I just see more threads like this one. The only pic I have seen is the one above that shows the two hoses. So I at least know where to go, but now I need to better understand what to do and make sure I don't get any of those air bubbles in there. Also, I have a coolant leak. It appears to be at the resevoir, but I have replaced that already as well. What a pain, thank God its never that cold here in Texas!

Thanks,

Matt
