Hi avant80@2.6,
Yesterday i went for a long drive and initally heater worked properly but after some time even though i put the heater to the highest temperature i am not getting enough heat from the blowers.
My car is 97 - A4 2.8L and got 84,000 miles and recently did 90 K servicing from a dealer.
do i have to check for any fluid level any where?

check the coolant level for the radiator but it sounds like you have a flow problem to the heater matrix, problems could be sticking thermostat / sticking blender gate on the heater blower / too much anti freeze / failing water pump,
my advice is to take it back to the dealer who did the service and have them check their work out it could be as simple as they didn't bleed the system so keep an eye on your temp gauge because if its not circulating right it could cost you a cylinder head due to over heating

Could be lots of things.
1. Does your coolant temperature warm up? The temp gauge should be in the middle. If not then the culprit is likely a bad thermostat.
2. Check your coolant level and top up with G12 coolant from the dealer.
3. You could either have an airlock in the heater core, or a blocked heater core. With the engine warm and the heat on, find the two hoses that run the coolant through the firewall. They should both be hot. If not, the flow through the heater core is blocked.
4. Flap valves may not be directing air flow over the heater core. This needs to be checked with a vagcom as an OBDII code reader wont help.

hey guys, I have a question... my heater works, however when it is really cold outside (ie 10 degreese today) the heat wont work unless my car is moving (or the r's are up)...
is there anything I can do? I mean I have left my car idling for like 30 mins and it still blew out cold air, however once i started moving it warmed right up.
then, when i stop at a stop light it will blow cold air too
this is reaaaal annoying, can anyone offer any advise?
