Heater proble(runs cold)
Audi A4 96 Climate control
My A4 heater only ever blows warm, even though the engine temp is ok, both pipes going through the bulkhead are hot to touch although they squeeze easily and feel empty, also the two motorised flaps visible in the passenger side footwell operate ok, although don't know if they actually move the flaps.
I presume its either a blocked heater core, broken flap or temperature sensor problem.
Having read through other posts on the forum I know this is a common problem but I still can,t find anybody who has solved it successfully and posted the cure, I would be grate ful for any advice. Thanks

I was wondering if you had this problem fixed? I have a 96 A4 and the temp won't change no matter what setting I place it at. Every once in a while it seems to change a little but then it gets stuck again.
your heater core may be plugged, and I doubt Skanks will ever reply, he was only on here for one posting.
If you search for "heater problems", you'll find results, and explanations on what to do... it's too early, or I'd walk you through it all, just search and you'll find what you need.... I'm supposed to be working right now.

First thing to try would be to flush the heater core out.
Take off the hoses going in to the core.
Somehow rig up a way to connect a graden hose to one side, and run a sh*tload of water through it until the water flows freely and is clean.
Others have done this and it got the heat working for them again.
Make sure you bleed the system properly and check the levels when you are done.
