what im up new to the forum and was looking for advice. just purchased an awesome silver a4 ultrasport 1.8t 6 speed. car is sick but needs alittle more muscle, planing on getting a chip and intake for it. thinkin about carbino intake and apr stage1 chip. does the chip put alot of stress on the engine and apr claims that audi cant detect the chip but im sure thats bull. Any advice appreciated. also i see alot of people have revo chip whats better or differences between apr and revo

 

first off welcome. this is your new friend https://www.audiforums.com/search.asp now that thats out of the way. as far as the intake goes, most people I talk to say its a big waist of money unless your getting it purly for the noise. to address the part about the dealler finding the chip. it works. they can't or else most of my friends wouldn't have warrentys anymore. once its locked by you. they can't see it. As for the diff between revo and apr. revo is a much harsher (for lack of a better word) program, and with that it make more power. apr is smother, less power. I have neither cus they don't make one for my car so I really can't say. but for pure power. revo as far as I've heard makes more.

 

APR, GIAC and REVO all have great chips GIAC is by far the best for b5's and i think revo is really good on B6's the apr stuff is really good too dont getme wrong i just like the others more, as for the carbino intake it is the ONLY one worth the money all the other are BS, and no a chip wont hurt the motor its designed to work within the perameterrs of the moters ability and will cause it no harm, as for the dealers being able to tell theres no way they themselves can tell becasue of the encryption, all thye know is there is data there stock or modified it looks the same to a dealer, however if someting fails and they send your ecu to AUDI to be inspected they will beable to tell

 

and for the gains part, lets just say you will be spiking at around 16 to 17 and dropping down to 15, well atleast for me when i got my car JUST chipped, and i got a 04 b6 with a giac, and im really happy with it, and since i got the injectors and bi file im spiking 21-22 and dropping to 20

if i was you i would do all that at once, rather than waiting and wanting it later
