Default Help with 2 VAG codes....

Hey all,

ok, so I hooked up the ol' VAG to the car today, and there are two error codes. Anyone know what these mean (or more important, how to fix them?) :-)VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

Control Module Part Number: 8E0 614 111 A
Component and/or Version: ABS/EDS 5.3 QUATTRO D10
Software Coding: 0273004284
Work Shop Code: BB 24334
1 Fault Found:
01203 - Electrical Connection between ABS and Instrument Cluster
03-10 - No Signal - Intermittent

^-- this was the error that's causing the flashing "ABS" and "Brake" lights on the dash, along with some beeping.....

VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

Control Module Part Number: 8D0 035 195 A
Component and/or Version: Radio D00
Software Coding: 00117
Work Shop Code: WSC 06335
1 Fault Found:
65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error
00-00 - -

^-- so, my CD player (Bose) doesn't work now...it just says "ERR" Is there an easy fix for this one, anyone??

thanks as always for the help!!

This usually signifies that the ABS module is going south. I would first start by removing the abs modules large connector and cleaning it with some alcohol and a bristle brush. Radio shack sells a can of electronics cleaner with the brush on the nossle. If that doesnt help, you are probably going to have to replace the abs unit (not cheap!).

If your CD player is reading ERR, that usually means it is dead. Time to buy some new parts!

ugh! that's sooo not what I was hoping for!! :-) How much does an ABS unit generally set you back? And what do you do about the CD player?? Can you get a new one, or is someone going to dismantle the one I have for $90/hour?

thanks for the help!!

junk junk yards and autodismantlers are a good place to start. http://www.car-parts.com

Do you have the CD changer or the in dash unit?

What is your level of mechanical expertise? Are you goign to do the labor yourself or pay someone? The reason I ask is if you pay someone else, they are going to want to put in a new or refurbished unit.

Jus curious to see what you have done to fix this. I've noticed that the post was dated back in 2004.
I'm having the same issue now. =(
Any suggestions?
