Default HELP: big engine problem

So... let me tell my little story (its tiny dont worry).

I went to bestbuy. Bought some paper, and left the store. I autostarted my car and went inside..... my engine light was flashing. I didnt drive, I just waited for a second trying to get my head together. Then all of a sudden, the car starts vibrating up and down. So there is definitely something wrong with the engine. I called someone who knows a few things about cars. He thinks that one of the cylinders is malfunctioning. So I started driving home (what else to do ya know), btw its an automatic. It has a tough time switiching gears. I am going 40 basically stuck in 3rd.

Yes I restart the car a couple times and test out a few things.

So, I usually have an audi guy look at this stuff, but I believe he's on vacation. What do you think the problem is, can I do a simple fix for this, and if not, how much is the solution going to cost.

Thanks guys (Havent been here in a whiiillllllleeeee).

Consider a coil pack(s) or ICM.
Not to be mean, but if something bad happens because you drove it after seeing the CEL was flashing, you deserve it... You should know not to drive the car with a flashing CEL!!!! Shame on you...
Find someone who can vag it or rent a diag. tool from autozone or wherever before you drive it anymore.

Check out ecartoys .com for any OEM parts youll ever need.. Most of the time youll be spending over $50 and shipping is free for orders over $50.. Coil pack should be around $22 and I think an ICM is around $80.... Make sure you get your codes pulled before you go purchasing anything of course. Dont drive it anymore seriously even if its 1 mph.

RENT/BORROW A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL FROM AUTOZONE OR WHEREVER AND TAKE IT TO YOUR CAR TO SCAN! I dont know how much a body shop can do for you as this sounds like a mechanical problem and not a dinged fender.. Cant you get a ride to autozone to get the tool?? If not then yes get a tow truck because if you dont know exactly whats wrong with it and a flashing cel means DONT DRIVE/RUN IT.. "Pull over imediately and have your car towed to your nearest Audi dealer for service" as the all mighty manual says.

ah... icic... sry.. my bad not body shop... its audi dealer.... a friend of mine is a mechanic there. I guess Ill wait for his reply for what i should do with the car.. but thanks on finding the range I have to spend..... is this a common problem... cus it just happened out of the blue, like i never had an ACTUAL engine problem... only problems i had were electrical (cus Audi has many of them). But yeah, ofcourse I am not driving it now, so mad that it happened though.... o well.. thats life.
