can someone please find me links to prices and buyer information on two parts

Audi a4 quattro 1.8t 1999

1. Coil Pack
2. ICM

that would be awsome... i've been looking for 2 hours now and I cant find the parts... im probably just not experienced or something.

Thanks guys.
Did you figure out the problem yet? Why price shop if you dont know what the problem is??? Besides that, I already told you what website to go to for OEM parts - coil packs/ICM.. PAY ATTENTION-Look 7 posts up!!!!!!!
Check out ecstuning.com.. Also there are Audi links at the top of the page for stuff..

ICM : 93.25 Shipped: ICM LINK

Ignition Coil: 51.89 Shipped: Coil Pack Link

Use coupon code audi06

If you get the codes read, and you find a misfire on a particular cylinder, then swap around the Coil packs, if the problem moves, you have a coil pack issue.

If you have mulitpe cylinder misfires, buy the ICM

$51 is a good price for the coil pack for your yr. compared to ECS tuning's. I was thinking around $20 before, but thats for 2000-2002 models i think.

Damn, I wish I would have read this two days ago. ICM went bad (did the test as above), and I bought that same one for $130. I thought I was getting a deal over the dealership, who wanted $373 for a Bosch.

It seems to be that coil packs and ingnition control modules go bad all the time on the 1.8T. I've already done 2 coil packs on my wife's 2002 Jetta. You get used to the feeling when a cylinder drops out.

Possibly a coil pack. don't drive with a flashing CEL. Check the vagcom locator link in the helpful links and have someone pull the codes ASAP.

How considerate of you for your step dad.. Dont you have an autozone near by to borrow a scan tool?? You (your step dad) will end up paying probably $60 at the dealer for the scan, and if you get the work done there, you (your step dad) will likely end up paying twice as much as much as it would cost for you to do it yourself.. If its a coil pack or ICM, they are easy to install... You could do it.. On the other hand, if its your step dad thats paying for it, you probably are more encouraged to milk him for whatever hes got while you can cuz hes bangin your mom.
JK! I couldnt resist.. Sorry... But seriously DIY and save your step dad some money, he'll appreciate it.

man i dont know how many times i have to say this on the forum, but i would wish that people would catch on and inform people of the situation instead of just plain telling them not to drive there car when a flashing CEL occurs, through my experince telling someone something informative to as something bad happening in there car is much more effective than just plain telling them something bad is going on jeez..... so annoying, anyhow back on topic here, a flashing CEL occurs because the obd system is physically seeing a misfire situation and is realizing that unburned fuel is being dumped into the catalytic converter and is CAUSING catalyst damage. now what you really need to realize is there is only one way the computer can really know for sure a misfire is occuring and trigger the CEL to flash, which is when it gets no EMF (electronic magnetic feedback) from the coil to tell the computer it just fired the spark plug, therefore you have a coil pack that has taken a phat dump on you. now it would be much to your benefit to rent a scanner from autozone for like the peanuts it costs and it will tell you which cylinder it is seeing the misfire on, replace that coil pack and be happy you didnt pay the diagnostic guy at audi an hours pay for 5 minutes of work.

A flashing CEL can mean more things than a missfire. Dont be so quick to act like an annoyed expert on the issue. His first step should be to get it scanned, anything he finds out after that, im sure everyone is going to have a thorough explanation of what is going on. Autozone will lend out the scanner for a refundable deposit. We were only giving him the possibilities of what the problem could be. Whats "annoying" is when people like yourself chime in with their expert oppinions and explanations of something that may not even be the solution or the root cause of a problem. He couldnt have been better informed by the information that myself and others were giving him....

You have a 99, which means if it's the problem I'm thinking of, it's the ICM. Same thing happened to me.
Once you turn the car off and on again, it drives fine...sounds like an STi with an exhaust leak, and the CEL flashes, but I drove mine 7 miles to the mechanic, and she still goes...

The factory ICM is like 300$; you can find them for significantly less, though.
