Default Help getting correct engine

I've had a horrible time getting an engine fixed/replaced in my 2001 Audi A4. The warranty company would only provide an engine with a code that starts with "AUG" (this only comes on a '00 Passat; has 150hp. I don't think I need to specify that an '01 Audi A4 comes with an "AWM" (engine code) engine with 170 horsepower. I've finally got the warranty company to admit that the engine provided is incorrect. They are willing to "fix" their mistake by changing the head (which I'm not sure I'm comfortable with), or by offering me $1000. They claim that sum would cover the work that they would have to do to fix the engine. I have a feeling they are not being honest with me. I need to provide them with solid facts, what are the additional differences (other than a 3 vs. 4 valve) between the two engines, and the estimate to make this engine equivalent to what I bought. The warranty company claims there is no engine equivalent, currently available, to the one the car comes with. Any help would be appreciated!

Demand they replace the engine with the exact same engine, or fix the one you have now.

If they dont, then hire an attorney and sue them. Make them rebuild your current engine. If that is not possible, make them to drop this in there.

that's hot!!! it might fit in the trunk. i've tried to get them to just replace it, but that's when they said there wasn't an engine available. they wouldn't replace the head the first time because it was too expensive, now they're telling me that $1000 should cover it. I had to fork over > $1000 for rentals the first time it got fixed, I don't want to do that again.

they're f*cking you around. I'd suggest you get a lawyer and tell them that you're doing so. that might change their tune. no AWM's available? horsesh*t. I'm positive that an audi dealer could track one down for you.
