ok so i got the cams lined up, put the belt on and then rotated the crankshaft a couple times. it rotated fine, but i noticed that i didnt have the same resistance all the way around, at some points it was a little bit easier to turn than others. is this normal or do i need to take the belt off and try again?

Thats normal.
as long as the marks all lined up together, you are ready to start putting her back together! Good job!
Do you feel like you learned a little something this week?
ok cool well thanks so much. looks like ill be putting everything on and hopefully starting it up. im gonna check back here before i put the coolant in just to make sure the change in resistance when rotating the crankshaft isnt something to worry about. ill let you know how it goes.

Your very welcome.
I used the forum too to answer questions when I did mine. It certainly is comforting to have this resource at your disposal.
So, it feels good to be able to "return the favor" and help someone else out.
