If the top was spinning and you had to hold both sides to get the nut off, the weld broke. A lot of times the whole bolt/studwill break off which makes things easier. I hope you are using a heavy duty floor jack or jack stands while your under the car!

Wait if they are welded on the top then how come i had to have one person hold the one i got off still with a wrench. Because if i try to get it from the bottom, the whole thing moves and it doesnt unscrew. And after i got that first bolt off from the cat>dp the whole bolt and nut came off..see pics.

You only need to take the wheel off if your tools suck. I never do, but if it makes it easier for you to do its not like its hard labor.

You gotta just keep at it, its a pita. Theres nothing anyone can really tell you, you just gotta figure out what works. I find that having an extra hand is ideal for this kind of thing. again, 6 bolts, just takes imagination.
