Default help!!!! is my audi too slow?...

hi guys

im new here, and i just bought a 97 1.8T A4 quattro. i need people's opinion on how fast their stocked car is like. i love audi, but it seems very very slow in acceleration. do you think it is because of the quattro? it also does not push as well uphill. the car also has a hard time of going over 80mph. is it me or is it the car? the car looks very clean and new, with only 105k miles. i know that this is only a 4 cylinder engine, with 1.8L, but still, can it be this slow???????? do you think it is my turbo? please give me any feedback. please.....

they are fairly slow stock...getting above 80 should not be a challenge at all though, a4s can easily reach speeds of well over 100mph...chip your car with www.giacusa.com or www.goapr.com and it will be like a totally new machine.

make sure everything is running right. Check the boost output from the turbo make sure that it is a solid 11 and its not spiking. doing a diag is prolly your best bet though.

hey capio

What car were you driving earlier? I just got the same car as you and when I was test driving cars the FWD seemed much faster as well!!!

However, the 1.8T quattro is almost as quick of the line as my buddies mazda 626, BUT I am sending the car in to a AWE dealer on tuesday to get the GIAC chip installed! I heard it will be a different beast then and hope that should satisfy me for a while!! lol

I think thats prob what you should do as well. Unless you want to change your tubro and get a K04 kit for 2000 bucks!!

hope this helps.

Check the basic things first, like your plugs and Air Filter.
80+ should'nt be a problem, in any case.
