hey guys some help please

my A5 B5 is stuck in second gear, first it did not shift from 1st to 2nd, Auto in Auto mode

I hit the gas and it went up to 6Krpm, than it shifted in 2nd and kicked really hard, and now its stuck in 2nd gear, and when I engage reverse, the tranny kicks really hard


I just recently bought this car, and I am thinking it has a low amount of tranny fluid, that is why its doing this, but how do I check how much tranny fluid I have, and how do I fill it

the tranny has been worked on before so the idiots maybe did not put enought fluid there

 

come on guys some help here

 

you'll have to take it in to a shop to replace the tranny fluid. or get the special tool and have a vagcom to monitor temps.

as for your problem i have no idea. sry

I remember it is a maintaince free gear box, so no way to repair it

 

well there is. if u get under the car, there is a thingy u screw out with and allen. it's pretty big but i forgot wut size. then u can stick ur finger in there. it should be up to the top but if front end is up u won't be able to touch it. that's only a rough check. to do a 100% satisfaction check, do what chaos says

 

so take it to a dealer is my best choice
