So.... i've been looking at one of these for my b5 and called a local bodyshop.. They said theyve had problems with people doing the polyeurothane lips... and now I want to find an actual spoiler lip for my car. Can anyone find me a link for a spoiler lip that will fit the b5?... i really want it done...dont know why... just think it'll look great.

 

Does Audi make an OEM lip spoiler? I took a quick look and only saw a traditional spoiler (raised about an inch or so off the truck), but I like the lip-look better.

What exactly did the bodyshop tell you was the problem? If it's a matter of adhesive, I think people have posted suggestions other than the double-sided 3M tape. I've got a silver B5, and it's definitely something I'm considering.

Eveyone on Audiworld always talks about adding an M3 lip spoiler, so you might want to look into that.

 

I think they mean the M3 style not the actual M3 spoiler if that fitted I would be suprised but then again I really do not know that much on this so I could be wrong

Jestnomen.. u r a god..thnx ... that awsome website also offers a paint option for super cheap... im gonna contact them and see what the lip is made of and what type of paint they use (cus i dont want the same trouble with a different lip)... but thnx.. if it works out ill probably buy it in the next few days.

 

Phroztbyt...I noticed that the spoiler on ebay is $25...so if the one's on Jest's site are $130, plust another 70 to have it painted. What does the extra $175 buy me?

I know the ebay ones are polyeurothane, this says the material is "OEM Certifed (ISO 9002). Different quality materials I'm assuming? Also, how would the spoiler depot one get mounted? More tape?

OEM certified means its made out of the right material that the frames on the side of the car are made of... those little beveled piece on the side of your car are made out of a special plastic (not metal.. my mistake) that hold the paint much better. Its definitely double sided black 3m tape for it to be placed.... i would contact them like i am going to as well just in case... its that much more with paint but..... u have 2 remember... a paintjob at a bodyshop will b about 150 bucks.. 70 bucks for paint on a better product is a much better deal... especially when it comes with lifetime warranty on part, labor and paint itself.
