97A4. Window bashed in by vandals then replaced by pro installer. Now it goes up part way then back down. I have to pull it up by hand. Is this a fit issue or a bad motor or regulator? Thanks.

 

i think its the motor. put it up and turn the car off.

 

does it go up most of the way then all of a sudden go down when you hold the window up switch?

 

if it does, then just tap up on the switch and it will go up. you just have to tap, then let go, tap and let go...... till it's up

 

I'll try that tonight. But this is a new problem. It started after the break-in. Any ideas on fixing it? The speed of the window is very, very slow going up, but regular speed going down.

 

Take it back to the pro installer, and have them fix it.
Sounds like the regulator is still not right.

 

what do you mean why going down ?

you know our windows system comes with security. if you apply pressure on the windows while it's going up, then it goes down for safety. maybe something putting pressure on window or something that's why it's going down. just a tought.
