Default Window problems

My car was parked outside today all day and it is usually garaged. It was kinda hot today so I don't know if the heat affected the window or not. I rolled the window down to let some of the heat out of my car and when I went to roll it back up it got caught up on something and rolled back down. It did this several times and then it finally went back up after I pushed the the up button several times. I rolled the window all the way up and then back down to try to reset it but it still gets jammed up. It makes a creaking sound when it gets stuck and even when it gets to the top. I thought it was the seal for the window at first but everything looks good. anybody have anyideas what this could be. I really don't have the time or the money to take the door apart and fix it hopefully it was just because the heat but chances are it's not. Maybe I'll leave the window up until I have time to look at it.

Window regulator, B6's are notorious for it. Ive replaced so many of them i can replace them in about 20 minutes.

Taking the regulator out isn't really hard, putting it back together and getting the window carrier to line up again on a B6 is a PITA, if you don't get it right you have to keep taking it apart until it sits flush on the body and doesn't have any wind leaks.
After you get the door panel off (i assume you know how) these are where the major bolts are that hold in the window carrier, you have to un-bolt the mirror as well and take off the window seal around the top of the carrier. Then pull the carrier straight upwards and out of the door, there will be a wiring harness for the mirror fighting you when pulling it out.
The regulator is held to the window carrier with two T25 torx bolts, take em out and bolt the new regulator in.
Valeo window regulators generally cost around $150.

P.S. Don't rip the foam thats inside the door, cut away the glue and pull the foam panel out in one piece, this is meant to seal the door for the side impact crash sensors.

Do you think it would still be safe to roll my window up and down for a while or would it be safer to leave it up and alone. the weather is so nice here and it's making me crazy seeing all the other vag guys with the windows down all day. I don't want to loose my window in the door though
