hiding the chip
Here's something from AWE tuning and the GIAC chips:
"Dealership / Warranty issues: A majority of dealerships are wary of performance products. By installing a "stock chip module" your vehicle is electronically indistinguishable from a stock vehicle. (Dealerships do not commonly open the ECU, but it is possible to see the modifications within the ECU.)"
Apparently with their system, you can have a stock chip and a performance chip. The stock chip isn't noticed by the dealer's electronic stuff, but if they open it up, they can obviously see the chip/modifications.
I'm not sure about your chip maufacturer, though.

APR software is also not detectable electronically. If you've gotten the chipped and stock programs, you can revert to the stock program using the cruise control stalk (you definitely tell a chipped K03 from a stock one with a test drive). If you've bought the lockout option, you can lock out the other programs and disable the cruise stalk from being able to select programs (the dealer may of course be familiar with the ability to select via the cruise control and try to detect your chip that way). Ultimately they could just look at your DV and see that it's been upgraded and will know you're chipped anyways.
