an engine is basically an air pump, not that you got rid of your less restrictive stock air box you'll be taking in more air, youll notice it but to make the most of it you might want an exhaust upgrade aswell to help let that added air out easier

You might want to read around the forum about the problems that the K&N's cause.

It made my CEL come on a day after i installed it. I took it out the next day after i read about it causing the MAF's to go bad. I believe the stock filters are perfectly fine.

I've been thinking about trying an ITG filter though...

K&N air filters have oil on them. This normally isn't a problem, but the MAF sensor on Audis is so sloe to the filter that the oil from the filter gets on the sensor causes it to go bad. You can clean the sensor to fix it. You can use a K&N, but make sure to wipe it down with an absorbent cloth or rags to get as much oil off as possible and you need to make sure it's completely dry before installing it.

audi says every 40K miles, or 60K kilometres. here's a link that shows all the audi recommended service intervals. http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tech/audi/
