Hondas are beating me

I dont understand this. There was a honda civic that looked completley stock (probably around a 97) and he was infront of me at a left turn, he punched it, I punched it, and he pulled away from me. I just dont get it....Granted..I just got my audi a couple days ago but I dont see why he pulled away so quickly.

what do you want ?
when you are giving your car a little kick in the ***, like spirited driving or racing pos cars, keep the rpm's above 3k
and shift right after 5k (thats where cars hits peak power, and before the turbo becomes inneficent)
as far as launches... do not go above 3-4 k on stock clutch.. you will do nothing more then make is slip and decrease its life
as far as chips... you have a b6, so i would probably go apr 1+

our cars are slugs stock, you jsut have to understand that. and basically no mtter what you wont be able to do anything nder 3k rpm. the turbo and VVT hit at about 3k. if your trying to race someone, you shouldnt be below 3k anyway
well, a 1.8T stock is about as slow as you can get. im not surprised the sh it box pulled away from you. Get used to it, or get a chip and dv, and be a little quicker. Even with a chip, 200ish hp these days is laughable compared to most new stock cars.
Seriously, laughable indeed. New accord, 270hp. New Altima, 270hp. New model Eclipse (oh god its ugly), 260hp. Civic Si, 200 hp.
New cars are putting out nice numbers. Granted, they still suck.
Go audi.

I would take my quick audi that handles like all hell whilest keeping the people in the car super comfy over a fast crappy honda any day. Race in the twisties, then see how bummed you are(assuming you have quattro).

You can honestly make a Civic turn 12s for less than 2 grand if you shop around and piece a turbo system together. I have ridden in one that runs 12.7, and its boost setup is very basic - manual boost controller, exhaust manifold with basic T3 turbo, piping crush-bent at home using an ebay-purchased pipe bender, cheap FMIC, BOV, and intake cone from eBay, and an S-AFC for fuel enrichment. Ghetto as hell, but it ran very quick, and there was something like $1700 in all the parts. Try that with an Audi. That figure might get one of us the exhaust manifold.
