How do most people go about upgrading the bose stereo?
I know in many other cars with bose crap it is very proprietary and you need stupid adaptors and other stuff to even run the stock speakers with an aftermarket head unit. So do most people just rip out all the bose stuff and replace it with aftermarket, or try to integrate it together? When I get my 03 A4 I want to add an aftermarket headunit, maybe one with a flip out dvd player, and I also want to add my JBL amp and JL W0 10” sub that I currently own. Would it be possible to use the stock bose speakers with this setup or is it too much of a headache? Otherwise I will just replace them too, either way I will end up replacing them, but I am wondering if I could run them for a little while with my aftermarket stuff, Thanks.
you could probably reuse the speakers.. just get a 4 ch amp.. and headunit and run them off of that.. but if you are going that far you might as well do it all
you can add just the amp and sib to the stock system by tapping it off the rear speakers.. you can try that and see if it makes you happy, and if it dosent.. then i say go all out
