How long is long enough?????
Ok, so you just get done giving your car hell racing at the track or around town. Most people say after beating on a turbo you should lit the car idle for the turbo to cool down. But how long is long enough??
I have an egt guage and i just wait till it gets to 65 which normally takes about a minute to a minute and a half. Although i know some evo's and supras that do 4 minutes no matter what. Overkill = Yes.
Well, if you really wanted to be perfect, just get a turbo timer and set it for a minute. the greddy like I have adjusts to your driving style so I have seen the car idle for over ten minutes before.........which is way too long....Im going to have to look into that.
If you have been driving around like crazy, I usually sit in the car and listen to the radio for a min or just clean out any garbage in the car while leaving it running. The turbo is so damn small and takes such a beating that I am sure you could for the life of the car turn the car off right away and not have a turbo failure - not thats its good for it. I think its really important when you go K04 or bigger.
If I have been driving around town light driving maybe 20-30 seconds.
