2000 a4 1.8T starting to get intermittant oil light car has just over 100k how much is involved to remove oil pan? thanks

 

1. Check your oil level.
2. Check the oil pressure.
3. Removing the pan is a pain. To clear the front cross member, you have to hoist the engine a small amount.

 

I suspected that might be the case. Im gong to pickup a analog oil pressure guage tomorrow and hopefully pressure checks out ok. when you say pain.... you mean 2hrs or 10hrs? Im just feeling like it may need to be done. anyone know of a post that gives a little detail on this?
