Awsome, thats what I want to hear. I figured clutch would slip. I will be upgrading to a stg3 once stock starts to slip. I have 107k on her already so thats around the corner. As for my naughty ideas. Im geting ideas for my mid life crises progect . Would be long term. But never to early to start planing. I could find a way to transversly mount a VR6. Its wish bone mount stock. A lil welding an fab would do the trick. But It would make more sense to go with an older lighter shell.

Bottem line on the strengh of quattro is: Uber tough. 500hp drop from 5-6k will hold. Correct?

the trans and differentials will be fine.. its those axels you gotta watch out for

why would you want to mount the vr6 transversly, you would have to use a halidex based awd system, which the a4 does not have

Haldex is also fwd bias.

You won't get the benefit of the quattro system if you go transverse, since you won't be able to use the quattro tranny and the torsen diff.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about mounting the VR6 north-south guys. must have been a typo. it would be retarded to scrap the quattro system and try to go with a halidex AWD setup in an A4.

Yep, north-south is a good way to put it. not transverse.. lol
I had to find out first hand how tough it is hehe. Just got back from playing on an old dirt road. Out back of our property. Suprisingly, she held sevral 6k+ drops on dirt. Oh an one awsome donut! Did one on asphalt. Clutch sliped alittle like I thought. But she did leave a lil black down. I gota say. By far, Best car I ever owned!!
