I feel stupid for asking this, cuz I should already know...or maybe I thought I knew but never did...or....nevermind...

Anyway, how wide can you go on wheel width? I know 8.5" is a safe bet, but can you go to 9" sans problems? Same with tires, I know 235s will work, but what about 245s or (although it's a stretch) even 255s?

Please note, my focus is on the B6 (8E) A/S4. But if you know for B5s, it can't hurt to spill your guts too.

 

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I was also questioning with reference to a 19" wheel.

 

19" by 8.5 rim with a 235/35/19 tire

 

^^ see above thats right on. Do not go past 8.5' unless you do some custom work.

 

yah 235 is about as far as you wanna go. There isn't really any reason to go any farther 235 works best.

 

265 can go in the rear and it looks sick!

 

If this were just a good old RWD muscle car, I would do a staggered setup. But given the quattro, I'd rather do a uniform setup all the way around
