Default HP ratings?

What are the stock ratings for a 98, 99, 00 A4 1.8T Quatro? Are there any better years than others? I am looking at getting one, and want to know which years are better.
Thanks.

Well the 98 1.8T is 150hp and I believe the 99 is too. I think in 00 they upped the hp to 170hp on the 1.8T..but I could be mistaken..might have been later like the 01 or 02. Haven't really heard anyone talking about "better". They are all highly tunable and solid cars. I bought my 98' A4 Quattro 1.8T w/sports package about a month ago, and I absolutely love it!

They didnt up the HP untill the 2001 model year. I don't know if it is worth the price really, for 400 bucks you can buy a chip and have your 150hp engine pushing 200 hp.

Up to and including the 2000 were 150 HP, 2001 and up are 170 HP. More important for those with automatics, the pre 2000 were 4 speed whereas the 2000 on have 5 speed automatics.
