Need advise on the purchase of a 2003 1.8T Quatro
I am new to this forum and have done some searches and found some usefull infomation. I thought I would look at the A-4 as my daily driver. I have found a perfect one owner 2003 1.8T Quatro with 3506 original miles. (Not 35,000) The car is a silver automatic with black leather interior with the premium package, sport package, Bose audio and cold weather package. The only option I can see that may be missing is the HID headlights. The price is $26,500 from the original owner. My first question is how does the price sound? I notice that this model may not hold it's value as well as say a Honda but it seems to offer a lot for the money and is much more attractive. On another forum it was mentioned that leather interior did not come on this model until 2004 however the premium package says leather seating surfaces. Does this mean the bolster are vinyl? This may be OK since they may tend to show less wear. My second question is how reliable is the car. This will be my daily driver for about 5000 miles per year. My last question is. The sport package on this car includes the high performance tires as opposed to the all season tires. Will the high performance tires be good in the rain and in the snow or will I have the replace them with all seasons? I am replacing my 1992 Acura Legned that I bought new and have had no problems so I am hoping the Audi will serve me as well. I am a fanatic when it comes to maintenace. I only have the dealer take care of my cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated. www.geocities.com/mwrauto/

That sounds like a really good deal and if you could take it down to a even 26,000 that would be even better. I have a 2003 1.8T automatic almost same as the one your thinking about except mines dosent have the Bose system nor the quatro... and yes my 2003 has leather... i say its a really good deal specially with so little milage. I dont know how reliable this car is cuz i only had it for 4 months but it is definatly better then a honda . I dont think you need to change your tires cuz the car already has quatro so its already preatty safe in bad weather... but all in all sounds like a really good deal

Neither of those are leather, unless it was added aftermarket. It is leatherette. Lots of dealers try to pawn it off as the real deal, but leather only comes with the V6, except in m.y. 2004.

Wrong about the leather....my 2003 has leather, not leatherette. It is not full leather, yes, the bolsters are vinyl. It is a factory option and has been available for some years.
