Lol sell your car get a civic, or get a better job, or come to the conclusion that you can only do so much with the income you have. You wont get everything you want till you have a better paying job, exactly why you got to college. Your parents ever relate that to you?

you want a spare so your car isnt down and if it doesnt work, your not screwed waiting for a used/new turbo. We told you what to do, take if you want.
OK baby steps
Buy a used turbo, with shaft play is fine since it will be cheaper.
Buy the kit in the link
use the used turbo you bought for the rebuild
swap turbos
if it breaks or doesnt work, swap back to the stock turbo
was that clear enough?

Dude it seems like you already have your mind made up on what you really want to do so why not do it. If it works you can come back here and tell all of us that you told us so. is not than it's your own damn fault for not listening in the first place.

I honestly think that kit should increase the effiency of the turbo some. Should add a little more noticeable gains than just a ko4, but there is only one way to find out. If he wants to be the guinea, let him. He just needs the ko4 files to go with it.
